THE GOLDEN ROLL
By Gerald S. Lestz
And a few quotes to start the New Year Only a baker can make dough and loaf. Duty makes us do things well, but love makes us do them beautifully. Use not today what tomorrow will need. A man in the right with God on his side, is in the majority though he be alone. Hope you're enjoying a blessed holiday season and have a beautiful New Year! Love Ya!
Steamcerely, Anna Mae
LUMAN R. CRANZ died recently I consider it a privilege to have known and neighbored with this kind and gentle man of so many abilities. Luman excelled in all that was constructive. He had been a school teacher, homebuilder, well driller, machinist, blacksmith, pilot and engineer. He was a mason for over fifty years and had served on many local boards as well as many steam shows in northern Ohio where he was seen with his beautiful 19 horse Baker.
His gentle understanding and willingness to help his fellow man will be missed but not forgotten.

CLARENCE D. ESCHENBRENNER, age 76, passed away July 3, 1982. He was an avid reader of the Iron-Men Album because he loved steam. As a young man in southern Ohio, he helped with his father's steam engine and threshing crews. He went to steam shows and traveled to ride trains pulled by steam engines. He believed steam was great in the past and would be great in the future. He tried to pass on his great love to his grandchildren.

The death on October 1, 1982 of FRED J. HART of Wayne, Ohio, at the age of 97 marks the turning of one of the few remaining pages in the life stories of men involved in the great mechanical-industrial revolution era which shaped the growth of our country. His knowledge and creative genius as a steam engineer gave him wide recognition among his contemporaries. He maintained an avid interest to the end. It is noteworthy that his friends were able to give him public recognition at the Antique Engine Show held in July.
It is because of individuals like Fred that our mechanical technology made such phenomenal growth.
