OLD GERMAN WOODCUT

This print is from an old woodcut from the kingdom of Saxony, Germany. The caption reads: "For many decades the Lokomobile has been used used in agriculture, specially for powering thresher machines and plowing."
Lokomobile seems to be the name for any boiler mounted engine whether it's a stationary, portable, or traction engine.
In this cut we see a cable drum belted to a portable. Notice in the upper right the horse pulling a plow backwards while the plow in the foreground is being pulled forward by the cable.
